– Fashion Revolution
fashion lovers. We are the industry and the public. We are citizens of the world. We are you.
Fashion Revolution is a global movement that began in the UK in 2013 and has now spread to over 100 countries. We advocate for transparency, sustainability, and ethics in the fashion industry. Our mission is nothing short of a revolution: to radically transform the way clothes are sourced, produced, purchased, and used. What the world wears today and in the future should be made in a safe, clean, and fair way.
Fashion Revolution Denmark was established in 2018. While we care about the entire fashion value chain, our Danish initiatives focus primarily on one of Denmark’s central issues: textile waste, which stems from overproduction and overconsumption. To tackle this, we drive cultural change through initiatives such as the Circular Creative Community and the Unwasted Festival, inspiring more sustainable ways of creating, consuming, and thinking about fashion.
We currently operate two hubs in Denmark. Our main office is in Copenhagen, and we also have an active group in Fyn. If there isn’t a hub in your area and you want to start one, we encourage you to reach out and get involved!
OUR VISION
A global fashion industry that preserves and restores the environment and values people over growth and profit. That citizens will consume thoughtfully and move away from a destructive throwaway culture and instead appreciate and extend the lifespan of clothing. That consumers will demand that the people who made the clothes are properly paid and treated with dignity.
OUR AIMS
- Safe, dignified working and living conditions for all people in the fashion supply chains
- A redistributed and more equal balance of power across the global fashion industry
- A larger and stronger workers’ movement in the global fashion industry
- A global fashion industry that works to preserve precious resources and regenerate ecosystems
- A culture of transparency and accountability across the value chain; upstream and downstream
- An end to throwaway culture and a shift to a system where materials are used much longer and nothing goes to waste
- A culture where heritage, craftsmanship, and local wisdom are recognised and valued
